Radio 1 has reversed its decision to bleep out the word "faggot" from Christmas favourite Fairytale Of New York, despite claiming it could be offensive to gay listeners. Station bosses initially took the decision to bleep out the term from the hit Pogues song, which has been re-released for the festive period.
Censors also decided to edit out the word 'slut', but deemed the word 'arse' okay to air.
